The Bishop's School Prayer

While I would love to say that going to Chapel was one of my fondest memories of Bishop's, that would be a lie.  It wasn't particularly fun.  However, as I have grown older (and hopefully wiser, but the jury is still out on that one) and I have grown in my Walk with Christ, I have looked back on our times in Chapel with increasing fondness.  To that end, it seemed fitting that we bring back a good memory from our days in Chapel - The School Prayer.

The Bishop's School Prayer

Bless, O Heavenly Father, this school.
Make us ready to be taugh and willing to obey.
Enrich us with faithfulness and loving wisdom.
Quicken our minds in the desire for knowledge and our hearts in the love of virtue.
Deliver us from fear of that which is new and scorn of that which is old.
Strengthen us in body and spirit that we may be prepared for service to our country and the world.
Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.

A BIG thanks to Jocie for digging this up from her archives!

  1. I was delighted to see the school prayer on this page. My recollection of it is a bit different. I thought the first line read: "Bless, O Lord, this school and all who study here. Funny what sticks in the memory, correct or not!
