Edward Miller '97, a Captain in the United States Marines, stood proud as he was awarded the prestigious Bronze Star Medal on Jan. 21st of this year at Camp Lejeune, N.C. Miller accepted the award with two other Marines (pictured), all formerly with the 1st Iraqi Army Division Military Transition Team, II Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward), for their actions while deployed to Iraq from Sept. 20, 2008 to Sept. 19, 2009.
The Bronze Star is a United States Armed Forces individual military decoration awarded for bravery, acts of merit, or meritorious service. It is indeed a high honor bestowed upon one of our own. We are proud of you, Ed!
Ed left last month for another tour of duty in Afghanistan. We will interview him in depth next year about his experience being deployed in active combat.
We want to take this time to thank all of the men and women serving in the Armed Forces, especially those who are spending this Christmas away from their families, which includes Ed Miller. We thank you for your service and we pray for your safe return home.
MERRY CHRISTMAS
TO ALL ALUMNI AND YOUR FAMILIES!!
